A SELFISH DEED IS NOT FREEDOM
Set in 2010, Yakuza 4 follows 4 protagonists this time instead of just Kiryu. There’s Shun Akiyama, Taiga Saejima, Masayoshi Tanimura, and Kazuma Kiryu. You follow each of these characters individually as they all become part and make their own discoveries of the overarching plot of the game.
KAZUMA KIRYU
Settled down with his orphanage family, Kiryu is motivated to return to Kamurocho after coming across a few important individuals.
SHUN AKIYAMA
A loan-shark in Kamurocho, Akiyama of “Sky Finance” is known as “The Lifeline of Kamurocho”. Known for his 0 interest policy, he is well known in area. However, he is dragged into the plot after a certain person visits his office.
TAIGA SAEJIMA
Sentenced to death in prison for gunning down 18 yakuza members, Saejima remains in prison 25 years later. Motivated, Saejima breaks out in search for his sister and sworn brother.
MASAYOSHI TANIMURA
Working as a police officer, Tanimura has a poor reputation amongst the people of Kamurocho, he is known as the “Parasite of Kamurocho” as a result. Tanimura searches for the truth behind his father’s death.
