Set 1 year after Yakuza (Kiwami), Yakuza (Kiwami) 2 is set in 2006 and follows Kazuma Kiryu as he gets wrapped back into Tojo Clan affairs after the death of the 5th chairman. Tasked with finding the son of deceased patriarch, Sohei Dojima, Daigo Dojima, Kiryu sets out to convince him to become the 6th Chairman to the Tojo Clan. This would drag Kiryu into a plot involving the Tojo Clan, The Omi Alliance, and even the Korean Mafia, leading Kiryu to encounter new foes and make unexpected allies too.

KAZUMA KIRYU
Now retired from the Tojo Clan, Kiryu tries to settle down with his now adopted daughter, Haruka Sawamura. However, after the assassination of the 5th chairman, Kiryu feels responsible to fix the Tojo Clan. This journey would see him clash with “The Dragon of Kansai”
HARUKA SAWAMURA
Now adopted by Kiryu, Haruka now lives with her new father-figure. However, that is temporarily put on hold as Kiryu must put an end to more yakuza business
DAIGO DOJIMA
Son of patriarch Sohei Dojima, Daigo is recruited back into the Tojo Clan by Kiryu, believing that he’d be the one to stop the Tojo Clan from falling apart.
GORO MAJIMA
After dissolving the Majima Family, Majima sets up “Majima Construction” where he and his former family begin to work on Kamurocho Hills
KAORU SAYAMA
Member of the Osaka Prefectural Police, Kaoru puts Kiryu in protective custody as the two work together to stop the oncoming war between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance
RYUJI GODA
Known as “The Dragon of Kansai”, Ryuji Goda is the patriarch of the Go-Ryu Clan and main antagonist of the game. He wishes to start a war between the Omi Alliance and the Tojo Clan in hopes that it would lead to the destruction of the Tojo Clan.
